Dr. Russ Overy is a Colorado native with extensive experience treating spinal and orthopedic conditions, pre and post-surgical rehabilitation, as well as sports injuries. He has treated all levels of athletes from Olympic and professional to recreational. He has a special interest in the treatment of overuse injuries in cyclists and overhead athletes, as well as hip pathology and rehabilitation. As a father of two athletes, Russ is passionate about youth sports and youth sports injury prevention. For all patients, Russ believes success comes from discovering a patient’s goals and collaborating to create a partnership for treatment.
Russ values taking an active role in the development of the next generation of physical therapists. He has been faculty in the School of Physical Therapy at his alma mater, Regis University, since 2014. Named Affiliate Faculty Member of the Year in 2020, he specializes in hands-on labs and teaching of manual therapy techniques. In addition, he has been a clinical instructor to numerous Doctoral, Fellowship and Residency candidates. He continues mentoring relationships with many of his students and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and a fellow in American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT).
Outside the clinic, Russ enjoys mountain biking (amateur racing), fly fishing and downhill skiing.
You can also find him watching his son at local high school athletic events and visiting his marine biologist daughter in exotic costal locations.
