Dr. Alan Hofman’s journey into becoming a physical therapist was sparked by a personal experience with multiple knee surgeries in his early 20s. Experiencing firsthand the challenges and nuances of being a patient fueled his determination to pursue a career in physical therapy. Following this life-changing experience, he dedicated himself to achieving that goal and is excited to be able to treat and work alongside numerous top tier clinicians at Mend.
Alan brings extensive expertise to Mend, having treated a diverse range of orthopedic conditions through his experience in various clinics across Colorado and Georgia. His particular focus lies in addressing complex spinal pathologies, post-operative rehabilitation, and catering to athletes at all levels. Furthermore, Alan is an avid cyclist with a deep passion for assisting fellow cyclists in reaching their full potential.
Alan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University and holds a Bachelor’s in Science in Health Promotion from Colorado State University. Notably, he is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist (OCS), achieved his Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapy Certification (COMT) through Maitland seminars, and is certified in the application of functional trigger point dry needling. With nearly a decade dedicated to outpatient orthopedics, Alan has served as a clinic director and mentor, contributing significantly to the professional growth of his colleagues.
In his leisure time, he cherishes moments spent with his wife, daughter and dog. You might also spot Alan cycling up Lefthand Canyon or skiing the champagne powder of Steamboat Springs in his free time.
