Dr. Rani Helvey-Byers, PT, DPT, OCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy
Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy
"As a physical therapist with a background in yoga, I understand that healthy movement is critical for our well-being. When that ability is compromised, our quality of life suffers. While my primary goal is to restore my clients’ ability to do the things they love, I also ensure that each individual is equipped with the tools to continue managing their health long after they have left the clinic."

Rani has always been dedicated to clinical excellence to ensure the best outcomes for her clients. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Colorado Anschutz before later completing an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Currently, she is completing a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Therapy with Regis University. She is also certified in dry needling and has obtained her advanced yoga teacher training designation (RYT-500) through the Yoga Alliance. Additionally, she has experience teaching in both the Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant programs at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and has published literature on physical therapy management of sternoclavicular joint injury.

Rani treats a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions and is particularly interested in helping people with shoulder, low back, hip, and knee pain that has not responded to previous treatments. With her background in yoga, Rani is passionate about assisting clients in returning to their yoga practice. She works with each individual to determine the root cause of their symptoms and helps them develop independence in managing their health, enabling them to continue thriving long after they leave the clinic. She follows an evidence-based approach that combines manual therapy and exercise, emphasizing the importance of listening to each individual client’s needs.

In her free time, Rani loves being outdoors in beautiful Colorado, especially trail running, rock climbing, hiking, or camping. She is also an avid knitter and has a habit of taking on more crafting projects than she can handle.
